Hoping to jumpstart its campaign in the upcoming 41st PBA season, Blackwater has added youthful talents to its roster.

And at the forefront of the youth revolution for the Elite is Almond Vosotros, who is slowly getting accustomed to the system of head coach Leo Isaac.

“May mga konting adjustments, pero tingin ko before the season, makukuha ko na rin yung system ni coach Leo (Isaac),” he said.

Vosotros, who was a member of the gold medal-winning Gilas cadets squad in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games, said that he’s staying positive in order to help his new team.

“Lagi naman akong positive. Wala ring gaanong pressure kasi hinahayaan kami ng coaching staff na laruin namin yung game namin as long as makakatulong sa team,” he said.

He also shrugs off the notion of a loaded Blackwater backcourt fighting for spots, saying that extra bodies could actually work to the Elite’s advantage.

“Mas OK din yung ganun kasi di rin natin maiiwasan yung off-night ng players, so mas may option si coach Leo na makapag-rotate ng maayos kasi marami kaming guards.”

“You just have to be ready kasi di natin masasabi kung kailan maganda yung laro natin or kailan tayo off. Off-the-bench or starting, dapat ready ka palagi.”

The no. 13 overall pick is ready to help the Elite get out of the cellar.

“Basta’t nasa bagong team ako, wala na akong iniisip kung hindi gusto kong manalo yung team. Gusto ko every game, manalo kami. Hangga’t maaari, pipilitin ko makatulong at lagi kaming nasa top,” he said.

“Medyo mahirap kasi halos lahat ng PBA teams, alam na nasa ibaba ang Blackwater. Pero gagawin namin ang lahat para makatulong na maiakyat yung team.”
