Rain or Shine is headed to the Middle East for a a week-long trip in the hopes of finetuning its line-up with less than a month left before the opening of the 41st PBA season.

The Elasto Painters, who had several off-season moves, will go up against club teams in Kuwait and Bahrain according to deputies Caloy Garcia and Mike Buendia.

They will go up against Nuwaidrat, the same team Buendia coached in the Bahraini Premier League in 2004, the Bahrain national team, and a still unnamed Kuwaiti club.

But before they fly to the Middle East, Elastopainters had a chance to gauge their progress in a tune-up game against Mahindra on Tuesday.

“At least nakita namin yung mga bagay na kailangan naming i-adjust. May mga minor lapses pa na nangyayari, but it’s a good tuneup game for us against Mahindra,” Garcia said.

Even sans coach Yeng Guiao, Rain or Shine was still able to breakaway from the Enforcers, 102-91, and had the chance to give more playing time to seldom-used players.

“Ang utos naman ni coach sa amin is to run certain plays at papanoorin na lang nya sa video. Dun na lang namin titignan kung saan kami maga-adjust,” Garcia added.

The Elasto Painters leave for Bahrain on Wednesday.
