Meet Alaska Aces’s muses for PBA Season 41
Alaska does away with the typical type and will parade youth ambassadors as the team’s muses in the opening ceremonies of the 41st season of the PBA on Sunday.
Sisters Tara, Samantha, and Franchezka Borlain will be walking with the Alaska players at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Tara is a five-time Alaska Ironkids Triathlon champion, winning the events from 2010 to 2015, save for 2014 when she placed second.
The 12-year-old Tara has also reigned in numerous aquathlon races, foot, swim, and bike races since 2010, and has participated in the IAAF Kids’ Athletics Events.
Tara was also named as the Triathlete of the Year twice, first in 2012 where she became the youngest to win the plum, and again in 2015.
She is a motivational speaker and is also a host for the TV show Just 4 Kids.
Her older sister Samantha has also left a mark, reigning in her division in Alaska Ironkids Triathlon in 2013 and 2014.
The 13-year-old is a five-time Alaska Ironkids Aquathlon champ and has been a consistent medalist in a number of swim events—even winning the silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle event at Palarong Pambansa 2014 in the secondary level at the age of 12.
Franchezka, 7, is the youngest of the bunch, but that hasn’t stopped her from following her elder sisters’ accomplishments.
She placed second in the 2015 Alaska Ironkids Triathlon event for six to 8-year-olds, and won the 2015 TRAP Aquathlon.
Franchezka also lorded the 2014 PSL-Magnolia Novice event, winning in four competitions and topped the first leg of the AquaSphere Open Water in January 2014. She also was the youngest runner in the National Bookstore Book Run back in 2009, where she competed in the 3K run at one year and 11 months.
