2015-16 PBA Season Preview: San Miguel Beermen
Winning two of the three titles up for grabs last season, San Miguel knows that it’s coming into PBA Season 41 with a big bullseye on its back.
For coach Leo Austria, it’s a matter of picking up where they left off from in the hopes of defending the crown.
“What we left behind from the championship, we should start from there and keep on improving. It’s the only way we can win the championship again,” he said.
With an already solid core bannered by two-time MVP June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos, and Marcio Lassiter, the Beermen will basically bring an intact lineup, but with a couple of new additions like Ryan Araña and Brian Heruela.
Austria admits that it was a tough offseason for the Beermen, having to deal with numerous injuries, but that hasn’t stopep the squad from being consistent in what they want to achieve before the season starts.
It also helps that Araña and Heruela’s arrival have seamlessly so far, filling the holes left by their absent teammates in training camp.
If they are able to keep up the work they put the last time, it could be another fruitful season for the Beermen.
