Alyssa Valdez, volleyball stars stand out as PBA muses
Top volleyball stars Alyssa Valdez, Mika Reyes, Rachel Ann Daquis, and Alexa Micek strut their stuff on the basketball court as muses for PBA teams during the league’s opening festivities Wednesday night at Mall of Asia Arena.
Valdez paraded as muse for Talk ’N Text, Reyes represented Barako Bull while Daquis and Micek turned heads as San Miguel Beer’s muses.
The four beauties stood out with the crowd behind them and all cherished the opportunity.
“Idol ko silang lahat. Ever since, I’m watching them play so I’m really honored and blessed to be part of this,” said the Ateneo superstar Valdez.
Reyes, the De La Salle University standout, said that the crossover from one sport to another is a testament to the endless possibilities that volleyball players have.
“We’re very happy na nagiging choice nila kami maging muse sa isang big event like this. Masaya kami and thankful kami. Di lang kami ordinary volleyball players, pero kino-consider din yung beauty namin,” said Reyes.
Daquis, meanwhile, is just having a great time walking with Micek and with the defending Philippine Cup champs San Miguel.
“Masaya kami kasi naa-appreciate nila yung beauty ng mga volleyball players,” she said.
“Ganon talaga, champion muses for a champion team,” Daquis added with a smile.
Though the fans and the players had a great time seeing their volleyball idols walk side by side with PBA stars, it’s also a chance for the four to serve as ambassadors for their sport.
“It goes to show that sports is just one family and I’m really happy to see na nakikita na ng mga tao kung gaano ka-solid maging isang athlete,” said Valdez.
“We’re happy na even by this way, nare-recognize yung sport namin. Na kahit sa basketball, nagiging part din kami,” said Reyes.
