Castro joins PBA’s 5,000-point club
Jayson Castro became a member of the PBA’s 5,000-point club on Wednesday during Talk N’ Text game against Meralco at Philsports Arena.
A three-point play at the 8:05 mark of the third quarter allowed the star guard to achieve the feat, joining Jimmy Alapag as the only members of the club who scored all 5,000 points in a Texters’ jersey.
He finished with 15 points to power Tropang Texters’ 105-91 win over Meralco to up his career total to 5,002 points.
Castro, meanwhile, became the fifth player to cross the 5,000-point mark wearing the blue-and-yellow, joining Alapag, Glenn Capacio, Vic Pablo, and Ranidel de Ocampo.
He also became the 17th among active players to have done such.
