Arwind Santos only had one person in mind when he drained the last-second basket that lifted San Miguel Beer over Barako Bull, 106-105 on Sunday.

“Siguro yung tirang yun, baka yun yung dasal ng mama ko,” the 2013 PBA MVP said.

Santos immediately left the Ynares Center in Antipolo to be at the side of his mother Araceli, who is confined for five days now at St. Luke’s Medical Center after having difficulty breathing.

God is good. Paganda ng paganda yung improvement. Sana magtuluy-tuloy na,” he said.

A tight hamstring could not stop Santos from finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, as well as the go-ahead bucket with 0.6 seconds that kept the Beermen at the top of the standings at 5-1.

Mabuti nalang hindi kami bumitaw,” he said.
