With Rain or Shine advancing to the 2016 Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup semifinals, a familiar figure is set to make his return to the Elasto Painters camp.
Paul Lee is expected to play for the first time this season when Rain or Shine squares off against San Miguel  in game 1 of their best-of-7 series on January 5.
No less than coach Yeng Guiao bared the development, saying, “Paul is going to play in the semis.”
“We wanted Paul to participate and to contribute, and he’s just aching to play,” the fiery coach said after Rain or Shine’s 104-89 triumph over TNT to advance to the Final Four.
Lee has missed majority of the All-Filipino conference due to a knee injury, which pushed Guiao to rely on guys like Jericho Cruz, Chris Tiu, and Maverick Ahanmisi to orchestrate the offense for Rain or Shine.
Guiao recognized that Paul may not be on tip top shape just yet, but has no doubts the star guard will get there as quick as possible with the team deep into a playoff run.
“By January, he’s going to be ready. He won’t be 100 percent by January 5, but he can be there very quickly,” Guiao said.

“Paul is determined and talented, so it won’t take too much time.”
