Castro hurt in TNT loss to Star
Jayson Castro is expected to be out of action for several days after the TNT point guard re-injured his Achilles tendon Sunday in a 96-88 loss to the Star Hotshots.
His injury was an old one he got just before the 2014 Fiba World Cup and he’s expected to rest for three to four days.
“It just keeps coming back. It’s swelling and has a small tear,” Castro said in Filipino. “But it’s not something severe. I’ve been suggested to rest it.”
“But I really wanted to play and help the team but now, I really have to rest for it to heal.”
Castro said the three to four days wherein he would sit out is just an initial finding and he would have his injury checked on Monday to determine if he will have to rest for a little longer.
He added he’s just taking pain relievers to play but his latest aggravation, which occurred in the final minutes of the game, is something he should take a look at.
Castro’s injury is the last thing TNT needed as it sits at the bottom of the standing with a 2-4 record.
