New queens are about to take the spotlight as the semifinals of the PBA Women’s 3×3 Tournament rolls on Tuesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Ginebra wants to erase its runner-up finish last year and barge to the Finals anew.

Bannering almost an intact lineup, the group of Angeli Gloriani, Maria Micaela Bautista, Mary Joy Galicia, and Vangie Soriano is gunning to sustain its unbeaten run in the tournament after sweeping all of its five games in Group A.

However, standing in its way is the Ara Abaca-powered Rain or Shine, which will be waging war together with Rubelyn Mendoza, Nicole Anne and Katrina Garcia.

In the first game, last conference’s semifinalist NLEX also is hoping to best last conference’s finish when it takes on TNT.

The Road Warriors believe they are stronger and wiser, with the addition of Analyn Almazan to their already solid core of Angelica Ortega, Fria Bernardo, and Katherine Sandel.

But the Tropa wants to continue shocking the field, with Karen Salopong, Diwa Corazon Paz, Sarah Mercado, and Jaclyn Cruz donning the blue-and-yellows.

TNT’s victory against last conference’s champions Blackwater muddled the race, as the Elite lost their chance of advancing to the crossover semifinals after losing to quotient in Group B.

Tip off is at 6 p.m. before Game 2 of the San Miguel – Rain or Shine semifinals series.
