Under Armour Batang PBA: RoS, Ginebra, Alaska nab first wins
Three other teams got their campaigns started the right way in the second playdate of Under Armour Batang PBA 2016 12-and-Under Tournament Tuesday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
Rain or Shine used a second quarter spurt to fend off Meralco, 47-29.
Xymon Mayze Nadurata dropped 10 points as the Elasto Painters turned a close 10-6 affair to a 28-13 edge at halftime.
Cristian Allen Vergara and Julius Christian Francia also had nine markers each in the win.
Misael Jian Carlo Turingan carried Meralco with 10 points.
In the second game, CJ Malik Due shot the lights out to lead Ginebra to a 61-38 rout of Mahindra.
Due finished with a tournament-best 33 points, while Franz Jared Quizon contributed 11 markers in the easy win.
The Gin Kings bucked poor third period and exploded for 28 fourth quarter points behind Due to coast to the victory.
Lucios Nash Tongco’s 22 points could not save the Enforcers from the defeat.
In the third game, Alaska gutted out a hard fought 32-27 win over Phoenix.
Ram Raxel Magsarile topped the Aces with eight points, while Christian Nathaniel Sy added seven.
Charles Farrel Nobleza paced the Fuel Masters with six.
