The winless Beermen tried to keep in step with the famed Elasto Painters before a 16-6 second quarter blast spelled doom for San Miguel.

Keith Anthony Wongchuking paced the Beermen with 17 points.

In the second game, Star nabbed its first win with a 52-43 overtime victory over Alaska.

Jhazel Aerol Paguiligan fired 14 points to help the Hotshots chalk one in the winning column.

James Matthew Ganotisi added eight markers, while Julian Glen Pangilinan had seven.

Star squandered a 22-11 edge in the third quarter as Christian Nathaniel Sy carried the Aces on his back to force overtime at 33-all.

But Paguiligan took control in extra time as Star finally got the hard fought victory.

Sy finished the game with 23 points, more than half of Alaska’s whole output.

In the third game, Kieffer Louie Alas kept GlobalPort’s record unblemished in two games, leading the crew to a 70-53 win over Meralco.

Alas shot 12 points, Arturo Fernando Tupaz got 11 markers, and both Roan Dancel Dagdagan and Luis Philip Santos tallied seven points each.

The Batang Pier pounced on the Bolts early and erected an insurmountable 60-34 edge after three quarters to secure the win.
