Cloudfone Batang PBA U16 : Ginebra, TNT score first wins
Ginebra and TNT drew first blood in the opening day of the Cloudfone Batang PBA 16 and Under Tournament Friday at Ynares Sports Arena.
The Gin Kings used a string fourth quarter surge to score a come-from-behind 88-68 victory over Star.
Stacey Tibayan paced his crew with 24 points, while Justin Mark Palisoc added 17 markers.
Jasper Marzan also chipped in 16 points, while Ragel Glennard Enorme had 12.
Ginebra overturned a 45-51 deficit at the start of the third and went bonkers from the field, unloading 43 points in the final frame to steal the victory.
Jean Capispisan carried the Hotshots with 20 points, while Allen Herrera and Ike Jordan Lim both had 11 apiece.
In the second game, TNT staved off San Miguel with a 98-66 beatdown.
Rean Makvee Relucio unloaded 29 points, while Kevin Raymundo amd Bernard Capuno contributed 13 markers each in the big win.
The Tropa was just a house on fire from the get-go, unleashing a 24-7 start to cruise to the easy win.
Clark Sta. Cruz topped the Beermen wiyj 12, while Raymond King got 10 in the defeat.
