Lowhorn: I should’ve played better
Dior Lowhorn is no stranger to the PBA.
He played for Ginebra in 2013 then Globalport in 2014 before returning to the league to play for Rain or Shine.
But on his third tour of duty, Lowhorn got a rude welcome from TNT.
Rain or Shine had a comfortable eight-point lead with 6:18 left in the third but Jayson Castro and his gang had other plans and closed the game with an 11-0 run as Talk N’ Text stole the 101-98 victory.
“I didn’t play a good game, I should’ve played better, I’ve played better the last time I was here,” said Lowhorn who averaged 30.18 points and 11.24 rebounds per game in his first two campaigns.
Lowhorn shot the ball on an 8-of-17 fix to come away with 20 points to go along 10 rebounds, but he had a plus/minus of -15 and was limited to four points.
His last made attempt was the Elasto Painters’ final point.
With double teams hounding Lowhorn in the post, Rain or Shine head coach subbed out his import with 2:42 remaining in the game and the Elasto Painter holding on to a four-point lead, 98-94.
Despite the exit, Lowhorn was professional about it and he felt the other players deserved to hold the lead.
“It’s tough to come to a team that’s won a championship,” said Lowhorn of the defending Commissioners’ Cup champions. “They have the chemistry already.”
