PBA pays tribute to outstanding Filipino police officers, soldiers
Twenty members of the police force and the armed forces will be sharing the spotlight on Friday at the resumption of the PBA Governors Cup featuring NLEX against Globalport and Ginebra against Mahindra at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
As in previous years, the league pays tribute to The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS) and Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Servive (COPS) in recognition of their dedication to serve and to protect the Filipino people.
The simple ceremony will be held before the Ginebra-Mahindra game with no less than PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa and PBA chairman Robert Non presenting this year’s recipients of the highest and most prestigious civilian award to the league’s legions at the Big Dome.
The TOPS and COPS awards is a joint project of the Metrobank Foundation Inc (MBFI) and the Rotary Club of Makati Metro (RCMM) in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to honor and recognize the excellence of the men and women in uniform for their selfless acts of gallantry and heroism.
