Meralco expecting another tough game from Mahindra
Winning their first two matches this conference, Meralco still isn’t resting on its laurels as it takes on Mahindra anew, this time in the quarterfinals.
“They were both close games so it wasn’t like we were completely dominating them,” said Jared Dillinger.
And the Bolts would have to keep that mindset when they take on the Enforcers anew in the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup on Saturday at Ynares Center in Antipolo.
“We expect another tough game from them. We expect nothing less,” said coach Norman Black.
Meralco is coming off a huge 104-99 victory over Mahindra last Wednesday in their playoff to claim the last twice-to-beat advantage.
Allen Durham will once again pace the Bolts in their 3 p.m. clash, as he will be backstopped by Dillinger, Cliff Hodge, and Jimmy Alapag.
Meanwhile, Mahindra is aching to break out of its funk, especially after stumbling to a four-game skid to finish the eliminations.
“We have no more tomorrow. We have to take care of Saturday,” said coach Chris Gavina.
James White will carry the load for the Enforcers, as he will be supported by LA Revilla and Nino Canaleta.
