GlobalPort stuns San Miguel for 1-0 lead in Women’s 3×3 Finals

GlobalPort pulled off a stunner, dealing San Miguel its first loss with an 11-8 victory in Game 1 of the PBA Women’s 3×3 Tournament Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Julie Pearl Gula showed the way for the Batang Pier as she dropped five points in an all-out assault to open the title duel.

Vangie Soriano added four markers as GlobalPort moved a win away from being the third champion this season.
Game 2 of the best-of-3 Finals series is on Sunday.

Chovi Borja started out the game strong, but the GlobalPort defense zeroed in on her, silencing the top gun for San Miguel in the final four minutes of the game.
