PBA PLAYS SANTA, GIVES AWAY CONDO UNIT, PHONES, TOYS
As in previous years, the Philippine Basketball Association played Santa this Yuletide season with its most precious gift – a condominium unit courtesy of San Jose Builders – going to a longtime PBA fanatic from Quezon City.
Katrina Basilio, from New Manila, QC, was the lucky winner of the grand raffle draw held during the PLDT myDSL PBA Philippine Cup Christmas Day double-header at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“I was really eyeing that prize,” said Basilio, who earned her raffle tickets by attending around 30 PBA playdates in 2013 .
To send Christmas cheers to its fans, the PBA also raffled off mobile phones, balls and PBA T-shirts among others.
And as part of the league’s “Alagang PBA” program, a number of players took time out from their hectic schedule to be on hand in the league’s toy-giving day at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City last Friday.
Sol Mercado, RR Garcia, Leo Najorda, Jewel Ponferrada, Bonbon Custodio, Simon Atkins, Mark Borboran, Magi Sison, Jonas Villanueva and Jeric Fortuna were among those who helped Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte distribute the toys to children coming from all the barangays of the city.
Almost 10,000 toys were given away courtesy of Petron Blaze.
The PBA staff continued to give away toys to children who watched the games at the Mall of Asia Arena over the weekend.
