Coach Tim Cone is convinced Barako Bull is a dangerous opponent that his team San Mig Super Coffee can’t look beyond them.

“Barako is a team whose record is very deceiving. They could easily be 4-1 than the opposite, and they are enhanced by a prolific import,” said Cone, urging his team not to take the Energy for granted.

“We just have to make sure we focus on what’s right in front of us,” Cone also said on the eve of the rare Tuesday matchup between San Mig Coffee and Barako Bull.

The Mixers seek to preserve their unbeaten run while the Energy hope to end a three-game losing skein in their 8 p.m. duel in the PLDT Home TVolution PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With great maturity, San Mig Coffee has remained unscathed since topping the PBA Philippine Cup.

“Ayaw namin lumaki ang ulo namin. Basta trabaho lang; basta laro lang,” said energetic San Mig forward Marc Pingris.

They were at their finest in their last game, extending their supremacy over Philippine Cup Finals victims the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 91-74, Saturday.

Earlier, San Mig Coffee whipped GlobaPort, 91-75, and clipped Barangay Ginebra, 90-80.

Meanwhile, Barako Bull has been struggling despite the big numbers being churned out by import Josh Dollard.

“Kailangan magtulungan kaming lahat,” said Barako Bull coach Bong Ramos.

The Energy are currently at ninth place with a 1-4 record, their lone win coming at the hands of the E-Painters (110-106).

Still, Cone maintained they can’t take Barako lightly.

“They are a very dangerous opponent and we have to show our maturity and not look beyond them,” Cone stressed. (SB)
