IT’S GOING TO BE EXCITING – SLAM JAM KING ELLIS
Living up to the exemplary show he did back in Digos City last year, reigning Slam Dunk King Chris Ellis promises that come Friday when it’s his time to defend his throne, he’s just going to do what he does best.
“I just got to come out there,” he said. “It’s tough to be on the spot, but (the competition) depends on what the other guys are doing.”
“I know a lot of guys have a lot of things in their repertoire, but I’m just going to come out there and just put down some stuff, for sure.”
Voted by the fans to be one of the starters in the 2014 PBA All-Star Game, Air Force Ellis knows that his competition this year will be fiercer.
“I think anybody is capable of winning it. With the addition of Japeth (Aguilar) and Justin (Melton), I know everybody’s got some dunks on their mind. It’s going to be exciting,” he said.
But for his part, he promises that there wouldn’t be any letdown if anyone wants to put their bets on the Ellis camp.
“I got a couple of dunks up my sleeves, a couple of aces, but other than that, I want to go tonight and practice. I was practicing last night, and come Friday, I’ll just go out there and do what I have to do.” (RL)
