ROS PLAYS WAITING GAME
Three weeks before the 2014 PBA Rookie Draft, Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao admitted that the Elasto Painters are currently on a wait-and-see approach for their plans.
“Hindi pa namin alam kung sino ang kukunin namin,” said the fiery coach. “Nobody in particular as of now.”
Guiao said that his team is still waiting for the final list of Draft applicants, set to be released to teams after the Draft Combine on August 18-19, saying, “We will wait for the final list before we line up our options.”
But despite the lack of a final list of draftees, Guiao said that he wants to beef up certain positions in his rotation come next season.
“We’re looking for a big wingman sana, or big quick center, or even a big power forward,” he said, putting emphasis on his team’s need for size.
Rain or Shine owns the second and ninth pick in this year’s Rookie Draft, set on August 24 at Robinson’s Midtown Manila. (RL)
