Chances are there won’t be a Bobby Ray Parks Jr. In the 2014 PBA Rookie Draft pool.

The two-time UAAP MVP dismissed the notion that he’ll declare for the 2014 Draft, as he is still focusing on chasing that NBA dream back in the United States.

The second-generation star who is the son of seven-time Best Import Bobby Parks Sr. has been spending time in the United States for a few months now, training with scouts in Los Angeles in hopes of landing a spot in the NBA.

“It was a great, great experience. I really got better as a player individually,” said Parks, who is currently vacationing in Manila.

He added, “I went to the Lakers for a couple of work outs, but my daily workout is at the EXOS training facility and I have individual training in the afternoon. Each day is a grind really out there and that helped me a lot. It made me such a better player.”

The 21-year-old from National University said that he’s still weighing his options, but a PBA stint is still far off from that list.

“If you ask me today, I’ll say no. I’m on vacation right now. Just really relaxing, just unwinding. I want to get better each and every day, but if you ask me about the PBA Draft, I’m not really focused on that,” he said.

“Right now, I have no plans. I just came back home to relax, couple of weeks, got to go back to training (in the US) and got to make plans.”

This comes as bad news for teams eyeing Parks in their Draft wishlist, as a number of teams believe that the 6-foot-4 wingman may be the hottest talent if ever he throws his name to the Draft pool. (RL)
