HAPPY TO BE IN FAMILIAR TERRITORY
For Matt Ganuelas Rosser, being the first draft pick of the NLEX Road Warriors is a distinction he will always treasure.
“It’s just an honor to be there as their first ever pick. It’s just an honor to be that guy,” he said.
Taken fourth overall by the Road Warriors in the 2014 Gatorade PBA Rookie Draft, the Gilas cadet is joining the NLEX squad which inherited the core of the Air21 Express. And the 24-year-old Rosser is just ecstatic to be a part of this youth movement for the Road Warriors.
“I’m just happy. I’m glad to be picked by a team I’m familiar with and a coaching staff I’m familiar with,” he said.
Playing under the NLEX banner in the D-League before, many pundits believe that the 6-foot-5 Rosser may be the second coming of Gabe Norwood. But for the Fil-Am, he is just happy to be reunited with the ones who honed his play in the Philippines.
“It’s just great especially cause I’ve been with the coaching staff and I’ve been with that group before,” Rosser said. “It’s an honor and I’m just really blessed.” (RL)
