KAYA NAMIN ‘TO, DI KAMI BIBITAW – ROMEO
For sophomore guard Terrence Romeo, the nightmares of the past are over and it’s a new day for GlobalPort.
Despite dropping a heartbreaking first game in the 2015 PBA Philippine Cup, the former FEU Tamaraw is still upbeat.
“Positive kami papunta sa game na ‘to. Kahit pangit yung record namin last conference, di na namin inisip yun. Ang inisip lang namin, bagong team kami at mas nagtrabaho kami this season,” he said.
Although some quarters cast doubts on coach Pido Jarencio’s plan to play Romeo alongside Alex Cabagnot and Stanley Pringle at the same time, the 5-foot-11 guard says that the ploy has been paying off, as evidenced by their combined 70 points in their season debut.
“Ok kami na sabay-sabay kasi mas mahihirapan yung depensa kasi yung dalawa kong kasama, parehong kayang gumawa ng opensa. Maganda yung jelling naming tatlo,” Romeo said.
But in this league where everything that matters is won games, Romeo believes that there are still a lot of things for them to improve on as the season wears on.
“Siguro kailangan pa naming i-improve yung depensa namin,” he said. “And communication din. Kasi pag endgame, di kami nakakapag-communicate ng maayos, di kami nakakapagusap kung anong dapat naming gawin.”
“Isang game pa lang ‘to pero di kami dapat mawalan ng pag-asa. Dapat mas maging solid kami. Di natatapos ang season namin sa isang game,” Romeo said. “Kaya namin to, di kami bibitaw.” (RL)
