NO LETUP
With two games left in their schedule, San Miguel Beer forward Arwind Santos reminded his teammates to stay on their feet and not be overconfident.
Seemingly learning the lessons of the past, the 2013 PBA MVP said that the Beermen’s 8-1 record is still not something to brag about.
“Stay hungry lang kami kasi nag-uumpisa pa lang naman. Naka-arangkada lang kami, so dapat naming alagaan yun,” he said.
Talk ‘N Text and Blackwater are the remaining games on their schedule, and one win would propel San Miguel Beer straight to the semifinals. But Santos wants to win both of them.
“Yung two games, kailangan pa rin namin yun. Di namin iisipin yung nangyayari sa ibang teams. Basta idiretso lang namin yun,” he said. “Ang goal namin yung gusto naming abutin.”
Under coach Leo Austria, San Miguel has been a matchup problem for the opposing teams, but Santos said that there is always room for the Beermen to improve.
He said, “Dapat mas pagandahin pa namin yung takbo namin. Kailangan magawa din namin yung ginagawa namin ngayon sa semis o kung saan man kami mapunta. Dapat mas maganda sa mga susunod na games.” (RL)
