1ST TIME CHRISTMAS PERFORMER EXCITED TO PUT ON A SHOW
Christmas Day has always been about spending time with the family.
So when Calvin Abueva found out that Alaska will play on the 25th, he couldn’t help but be disappointed.
“Mas masaya sana kung di natapat yung laro ng ganung araw para enjoy yung Christmas,” he said.
Though he didn’t want to sound like a grinch, he understands that it’s all part of the job as a professional baller, and he’s just pumped up to strut his wares for the first Christmas game of his life.
“At the same time, masarap din sa pakiramdam kasi first time ko yun maglalaro ng Pasko,” theam they call the Beast said.
And it wouldn’t be just any Christmas game as the holiday duel comes with great stakes with Alaska gunning for a 3-1 series lead against Rain or Shine on Thursday.
Though they are in the lead in this best-of-7 semifinal series, Abueva still doesn’t want to be complacent or even be laid back, even if it’s the season for giving.
“Di rin naman namin masasabi na makukuha namin ng basta-basta itong series. Sa amin, focus muna kami sa mga pinapagawa ni coach sa amin,” said Abueva.
It certainly will be a Merry Christmas for the victors on Thursday. (RL)
