SMB-alas arwind

Arwind Santos wouldn’t let a bleeding forehead slow him down as he bounced back big in Game 2, scoring 22 points to go along with four boards and two assists to tow San Miguel Beer to a 100-86 victory over Alaska in the 2015 PBA Philippine Cup Finals.

Though he had to go back to the lockers midway in the third quarter to treat the wound incurred after being hit by Calvin Abueva’s elbow, Santos still came back to the game and provided a spark for the Beermen.

And he was unfazed, saying, “Part ng laro yan.”

With SMB’s win, the series is now tied at one game apiece, which prompted Santos to say, “Siguro gumaganda lang ang laban. Unahan na lang ulit sa ikalawang panalo.”

Emotions have really been running high in the series and Santos said that the Beermen have to use their heads, keep their composure and not lose focus.

Many have also noted his personal duel with Calvin Abueva, which Santos downplayed, saying, “Siguro yung kulitan, di ko na kailangan sabihin.

But the 2013 PBA MVP wouldn’t let his guard down, bracing for a tough Alaska fightback come Game 3.

“Kahit nanalo kami, di ko makita yung advantage namin against them, kaya dapat mas dagdagan namin yung weapons namin sa Game 3.” (RL)
