NO R&R FOR E-PAINTERS
In the midst of a tough semifinal battle against Meralco, Holy Week this year is not a time for the Elasto Painters to relax.
“Walang time para sa Holy Week eh, so sa bahay na lang muna,” said Beau Belga. “May mga practice din at laro sa Sunday, so wala talaga time para magrelax.”
Though a lot of their peers look at the week-long hiatus as a chance for some rest and recreation, the burly Elasto Painters big man admits that taking a vacation is the least of their concerns right now.
“Ako, I just spend time lang talaga sa family. Di naman ako nagpapakahirap na magpunta pa kung saan-saan. Mapapagod ka lang din,” said the Sorsogon native. “The most na nagagawa ko lang is nagpapahinga lang talaga ako.”
The same is true with Paul Lee. However, the pride of Tondo still finds some time to at least keep up with the traditions.
“Umuuwi lang ako sa amin. May mga pakain pag Holy Week sa bahay kaya tumutulong lang ako,” he said, also adding that he’s still watching men who are doing “penitensya” as they pass by their house.
Despite their hectic schedule, Lee reminds his fellow players that their job should not interfere with their devotions.
“Kailangan kung ano yung ginagawa mo pag Holy Week, gawin mo pa rin,” he said. (RL)
