Barako Bull continues to silence its critics.

Nailing their sixth win in seven games, the Energy continued to surprise the PBA with a 123-114 victory over GlobalPort on Sunday.

And at the forefront of the latest win was Joseph Yeo, who had 19 points and dished out 10 assists.

FEATURED STORIES

The former Green Archer admitted that the Energy’s current roll still shocks him.

“Nagugulat din ako sa kung paano kami maglaro ngayon. Ang taas ng kumpyansa ng team, ng mga players. Sana magtuloy-tuloy. Feeling namin with our import playing like that, kahit magmiss kami, andun sya to rebound,” Yeo said.

Yeo also noted that this chance with Barako Bull is the players’ way to show the league that they can still hang and compete with the big boys.

“For us, yung mga players dito, gusto naming i-prove yung sarili namin. Tine-take namin yung opportunity para ipakita na kahit na-trade kami, we can still play,” he said. “Akala nila if it’s Barako, tinatapon na yung players. Pero tignan mo kami ngayon, we’re number one. Yun ang mindset ng players dito: to prove ourselves.”

Barako Bull is now on the verge of claiming one of the top four spots in the quarterfinals, a slot which comes with a twice-to-beat incentive. And Yeo said that that is basically the squad’s goal this Governors’ Cup.

“Target namin is seven (wins). Pero syempre, kung tuloy-tuloy ang panalo namin, why not? Di natin alam ang pwedeng mangyari kasi nasa ibaba yung malalakas. Any team, pag nakuha nila yung rhythm nila, mahirap kalaban,” he said.

“Kami, umaasa kami sa top four, makatsamba kami ng one game, semis na.” (RL)
