Top draft prospects Tautuaa, Rosario to miss 2015 Draft Combine, PBA Draft

Consensus top picks Moala Tautuaa and Troy Rosario will miss the two-day Gatorade PBA Draft Combine slated on August 19 and 20 and the 2015 Gatorade PBA Rookie Draft on August 23 because of national team duties.
PBA deputy commissioner Rickie Santos said that Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) executive director Sonny Barrios has asked that Tautuaa and Rosario be excused from participating in the Draft events as the two will be part of the Gilas Pilipinas delegation which will leave for Estonia on Monday evening.
“In support of the national team, the PBA approved Comm. Barrios’ request asking for an authorization for the two to miss the rookie proceedings,” said Santos.
Both players are still eligible for the 2015 Gatorade PBA Rookie Draft despite missing the draft festivities.
Tautuaa and Rosario are widely expected to be the top two picks in this year’s Draft, but are also included in the national team pool for the 2015 Fiba Asia Championships.
Gilas Pilipinas will return to the country on August 24 after a series of games against European opponents in Estonia.
Aspiring prospects are required to attend the Gatorade Draft Combine for their draft application to be finalized.
The 2015 Gatorade PBA Rookie Draft is slated at Robinsons Midtown in Ermita, Manila.
