Picks: (First Round) No. 1

For the past decade, Talk N’ Text has always been considered as the one of the strongest teams in the PBA after winning six championships since 2008.

With greats like Jimmy Alapag and Asi Taulava rocking the blue-and-yellow, the Texters had their fair share of Philippine basketball greats and it has continued with Jayson Castro and Ranidel De Ocampo leading Talk N’ Text into the current decade.

But after Taulava, the Talk N’ Text franchise hasn’t had a center who can own the paint like his personal fortress.

De Ocampo has the size but he is not a center and Harvey Carrey is too small to keep up with the demand of the PBA’s post.

Fortunately for the Texters, they have the first overall pick in the 2015 PBA Draft and they are primed to choose between two prospects in the big man position: Moala Tautuaa and Troy Rosario.

Both youngsters have the size, Tautuaa is 6’7″ while Rosario is 6’6″, and are not confined to play in the low post alone.

Talk N’ Text are on the forefront of a revolution in the big man positions as Tautuaa and Rosario can not only play hard downlow, but are also exceptional outside players.

Whoever the Texters pick will open up possibilities for the franchise as they now have an insurance they have a player that can continue their dominance.

De Ocampo now has someone to share the burden in the frontcourt while Castro has the option to use either Tautuaa or Rosario in the post or in the perimeter.
