NLEX gets Sean Anthony in three-team deal
Energetic forward Sean Anthony will be playing for a new team when the Philippine Basketball Association opens its 41st season next Sunday.
The NLEX Road Warriors acquired Anthony on Wednesday following a three-team trade that also involved Meralco and Mahindra, a little over a week before Asia’s first play-for-pay league gets the ball rolling on Oct. 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Under the deal approved by the PBA Commissioner’s Office, the Bolts first acquired Mahindra’s 2016 and 2017 second round draft picks while dealing Anthony to the Enforcers, who had settled their contract dispute with swingman Alex Nuyles the other day.
Right after that first trade, Mahindra turned to NLEX. The Enforcers got the Road Warriors’ 2016 and 2017 second round picks as well as Juneric Baloria in exchange for Anthony.
Anthony, a dynamo on both ends of the floor, can provide the spark the Road Warriors need to improve their stock.
