Injured forward Ranidel de Ocampo is now back at home where he will spend the next few weeks fully recovering from the herniated disc injury he sustained during Talk N’ Text practice last week.

The Gilas mainstay spent a week at Makati Medical Center before finally being allowed to go home on Friday.

De Ocampo’s return also came at a perfect time as it coincided with his daughter Madeleine’s 13th birthday.

But 33-year-old bared that it would take him at least three weeks before he can finally resume at least light workouts.

“Two weeks pa yung recovery, tapos rehab na after nun,” de Ocampo told INQUIRER.net.

TNT team manager Virgil Villavicencio also shared that the 6-foot-6 de Ocampo has been doing therapy everyday under the watch of Tropang Texters physical therapists.

De Ocampo also shared that he was comforted by his teammates, both from TNT and from Gilas, who all visited him at the hospital.

Even coach Jong Uichico told him to think too much of team’s progress but rather focus on his recuperation.

“Sabi nya lang magpagaling ako,” shared de Ocampo.

Though TNT missed the services of de Ocampo, the Tropang Texters did find a way to score their first win on Saturday, nipping Mahindra, 101-97.
