Romeo repeats as 3-point shootout champion

Terrence Romeo found the range and the rhythm to repeat as the 3-point Shootout Champion in the PBA All Star Manila Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Globalport’s star guard scored 20 points in the final round besting RJ Jazul of Alaska and KG Cañaleta of Mahindra who had 17 points apiece.
“Masaya, siyempre bihira lang ang ganitong opportunity, and at this age nakuha ko kaagad yung back-to-back,” said the defending champion Romeo. “Thank you kay God, and thank you sa mga kalaban ko kasi alam ko lahat sila capable.”
Romeo admitted he experienced some anxiety during Cañaleta’s turn in the final round.
“Lagi naman andoon yung kaba, ang importante pag kinabahan ka ay kung pano mo i-handle.”
Cañaleta found his rhythm from the top of the key but lost steam in the final two racks.
