After picking Mac Belo and Ael Banal in the 2016 PBA Rookie Draft, coach Leo Isaac can now look forward to a brighter future for Blackwater.

“Young bloods,” Isaac remarked on Sunday. “Talent-wise, they can develop into future PBA superstars and play good basketball for Blackwater.”

Belo has undoubtedly proven himself  as the best player in the field, while Banal made great strides in the two-day Combine, enough for the Elite to pin their hopes on those two guys.

As good as their impressions were going to the Draft, Isaac knows the two will immediately be thrusted into the spotlight as they hope to complement Blackwater mainstays Art dela Cruz and Denok Miranda in the coming 2017 PBA Season.

“We’re hoping that they can help us in our cause and we’re very optimistic with this development, that we’re able to grab the best available talent in this Rookie Draft,” he said.

Aside from the duo, Blackwater also got hardworking forward Tristan Perez in the draft selection.

With the haul, Isaac could only wish that this signals the end of Blackwater’s days at the cellar.

“Hopefully, this could end our demise. We want a more prominent appearance in the playoffs. We want to be a contender, competitive with the other top brass PBA teams,” he said. “As we go on to our third year, gusto namin nandoon na kami sa playoffs at lumalaban kami lagi.”
