LA Tenorio admits it’s just hard defending a locked in Terrence Romeo.

“It’s hard to stop a scorer who’s already got a rhythm,” Tenorio said as Romeo torched Ginebra with 35 points to lead GlobalPort, 91-84, on Sunday.

“From the start of the game, every one of them already has a rhythm. It’s hard to stop players like Terrence. If he starts the game like that, he’s really hard to stop.”

With the Gin Kings’ defense in shambles and their offense also floundering, they failed to keep up with the upstart Batang Pier crew as they fell to their second loss in three games.

Tenorio bared the team just wasn’t in the right mindset in the game.

“We’re not that focused coming into this game. We know that anytime, they can come out like that, especially their guards. And it showed in the start. We’re lost on defense. We didn’t come to this game expecting that would happen,” he said.

Tenorio tried his best to hoist the flag for Ginebra, firing 23 points, eight assists, and five rebounds, but it’s just too much for him.

Tenorio hopes the loss will serve as a wake-up call for the Governors’ Cup champions.

“We just have to learn from this game again. Hopefully, these kinds of games open our eyes to our weaknesses, especially against guys like Terrence,” he said.

Ginebra returns to action on Friday against winless Mahindra.
