Though facing off against Rain or Shine is no longer an issue for coach Yeng Guiao, it was still a weird feeling for import Wayne Chism.

But that didn’t stop him from competing at his best, especially against former teammate Beau Belga.

“It was fun. It brought back a lot of memories from practices and stuff,” he said. “I had fun playing against them. They played hard and they play as a team, as usual. I’m happy that I was out there with them, just on the opposite side.”

Helping the Elasto Painters contend for the title in three separate occasions, the 29-year-old now finds himself on the other side of the fence as he followed Guiao in the NLEX camp.

He may be wearing different jerseys, but he remains the same Chism who has wreaked havoc in his past stops here, pouring 27 points, 21 rebounds, and two blocks in his return on Friday.

The former Best Import’s efforts, though, went for naught as the Road Warriors lost to the Elasto Painters, 113-105.

Despite the loss, Chism is optimistic that NLEX can turn it around, especially  the Road Warriors blend well in time.

“We have a lot of improvements to do but this shows what we have as a team. It was good that we fought until the end instead of giving up and backing out of the game. We fought until the end and we just made mistakes in the end,” he said.

“The only thing is we need to jell as a team and develop more chemistry. If we do that, we’ll be good to go.”
