Quinahan, Washington swap approved
Rain or Shine’s “Extra Rice” duo has come to an end.
The Elasto Painters shipped burly big man JR Quinahan to GlobalPort for Jay Washington in a one-on-one
trade consummated on Thursday.
The Commissioner’s Office approved the deal on Thursday afternoon.
Quinahan broke out this season averaging a career-best 11.7 points, on a 29-percent shooting from threes, to go with 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
The Cebuano big man also bid Rain or Shine goodbye after five seasons with the franchise, where he helped coach Yeng Guiao two championships in the team.
This was also Rain or Shine’s first transaction following the departure of Guiao to NLEX.
Meanwhile, Washington netted 8.6 points 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists this season with GlobalPort.
He will be joining his fourth team since being drafted first in 2005.
