HERUELA VOWS TO GIVE HIS ALL
Quinton Brian Heruela hopes that he can follow the footsteps of his fellow Cebuanos in making a splash in the PBA.
A teammate of reigning MVP June Mar Fajardo at the University of Cebu, the 5-foot-10 guard has also made a name for himself in the PBA D-League, being a do-it-all playmaker who has helped Big Chill see success in the developmentals.
But the 25-year-old knows that the PBA and the D-League are completely different worlds. And he hopes he has made a good impression on the coaches in the 2014 Gatorade PBA Draft Combine.
“I think I showed good skills today and I showed what I got. I did well in the skills tests so I’m pretty confident,” he said. “I hope some teams looked at me and I impressed them.”
Heruela was frank when he said what his teams can get from him.
“What I can promise to the team is I will give my all and everything I got whenever I’m on the floor. They can count on me to help the team win. For me, my approach to the game is to just play and give everything I got, and hopefully, live with the result. Hopefully, that’s a good result,” he said.
He also admitted feeling the nerves, but the Pampanga-born Heruela is just excited to go to the event on Sunday.
I’m excited and nervous. Hopefully, everything will be great on Sunday.” (RL)
