NLEX KEEN TO ACQUIRE YOUNG TALENTS
NLEX assistant coach Sandy Arespacochaga admitted that netting guys who played for the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA D-League is an absolute advantage for their squad, but with this being the Draft, all they can do is just leave everything to speculation.
Big plus yun for us. Pero draft ‘to, di mo alam kung sino ang makukuha mo,” he said.
Kevin Alas, Matt Rosser, Jake Pascual, and Ronald Pascual are just a few of the former players in the D-League who played under the NLEX banner.
Arespacochaga was seen scouting for talents in the 2014 Gatorade PBA Draft Combine, and he said that he is there to pick up possible diamonds in the rough in the second round.
NLEX owns the fourth pick in the first round, but Arespacochaga said that their team is looking to at least acquire a few picks in the second round in hopes to beef up their lineup.
Depende pa sa mga mangyayari,” he said. (RL)
