SLAM CHAMPS MELTON & GUEVARRA BANNER ALL-STAR FRIDAY CAST
Justin Melton and Rey Guevarra once again take center stage and perhaps break their standoff as they clash anew in this year’s Slam Dunk competition in the 2015 PBA All-Star Weekend slated March 5-8 in Palawan.
Melton and Guevarra, who were crowned co-champs in 2014, will be joined by former champions Chris Ellis and KG Canaleta, as well as Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, JC Intal, and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser in the highly-awaited Slamoff that is part of All-Star Friday.
Mark Macapagal, meanwhile, guns for an unprecedented fifth title in the Three-Point Shootout.
It won’t be easy though, as he’ll be up against a tough field led by former champ Chris Tiu, All-Stars James Yap, Terrence Romeo, Dondon Hontiveros, Arwind Santos, and Jimmy Alapag, as well as Intal, Canaleta, Brian Heruela, LA Revilla, and LA Tenorio.
Mark Barroca is also eyeing back-to-back Obstacle Challenge plums as he defends his crown against the league’s fastest playmakers.
Four-time champ Jonas Villanueva seeks to reclaim the throne, with Tenorio, Revilla, and Heruela hoping to score a win in the All-Star side event.
Completing the field are Simon Atkins, RR Garcia, Chris Banchero, Stanley Pringle, Jayson Castro and Jeric Fortuna.
The Rookies vs Sophomores Blitz Game caps All-Star Friday.
Top pick Stanley Pringle will anchor the first-year players along with Kevin Alas, Chris Banchero, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Ronald Pascual, Jake Pascual, Anthony Semerad, Brian Heruela, and Kia playing-coach Manny Pacquiao.
Terrence Romeo and Raymond Almazan lead the sophomores as they join forces to prove who’s who among the league’s young ‘uns.
Rounding out the squad are All-Star starter Justin Melton, Eric Camson, Jeric Fortuna, Alex Nuyles, RR Garcia, and LA Revilla. (RL)
