COMM’S CUP FINALISTS RETURN TO BATTLE IN BACOLOD
In a classic Finals duel between Talk ‘N Text and Rain or Shine last conference, it took seven games before a champion was finally crowned.
A month separated from that gruelling championship series, the two teams will go at it again in the Petron Saturday Special of the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup at the University of St. La Salle gym in Bacolod City.
This time, both the Tropang Texters and the Elasto Painters are trying to recover from their early conference struggles in hopes of clinging on and advancing to the quarterfinals.
Talk ‘N Text is coming off of a two-game losing skid, an unlikely occurrence for the Commissioner’s Cup champ, with its latest defeat coming in humiliating fashion, a 119-85 bludgeoning from Meralco.
Coach Jong Uichico was at a loss for words following the defeat, and is just hoping that his squad picks up the slack come Saturday to move up the ranks.
Rain or Shine, meanwhile, has just proven that its early woes are just a result of a long layoff, punishing Blackwater, 123-85 on Wednesday.
Coach Yeng Guiao was elated with the rout, saying, “Wins like this give us confidence. We’re still not giving up and we hope that we make it to the playoffs and get our bearings back,” he said.
