NLEX guard Jonas Villanueva hopes a week of rest will be enough time to keep him from sitting out the Road Warriors’ next game against Meralco on Aug. 24.

Villanueva had to be taken out after turning his left ankle with two minutes left in the Road Warriors’ 82-81 win over the Mahindra Enforcer Wednesday night.

“Nag-hop step ako tapos pag-landing ko dun na sprain. Medyo namaga and masakit,” Villanueva told reporters as he limped out of the Araneta Coliseum tunnel with a couple of team staff members assisting him.

“Ewan ko kung kaya one week. Tignan ko. Next game naman namin is Wednesday.”
