Mahindra signs Gary David, Rey Guevarra
The Mahindra Floobuster got a needed shot in the arm on Tuesday by signing veteran shooting guard Gary David and forward Rey Gavarra on the eve of their game against Rain or Shine.
The acquisition of David and Guevarra should provide Mahindra, which struggled during its PBAPhilippine Cup debut against Globalport Friday last week, with instant offense.
David came close to hanging up his jersey after San Miguel waived its rights on “El Granada” while Guevarra, the slam dunk king, was left in the cold unsigned by Globalport, which acquired him from Meralco in exchange for Joseph Yeo.
The arrival of David and Guevarra relegated sophomores Pedrito Galanza and Michael Digregorio as unrestricted free agents (UFA).
