BUSY TRADER TNT SET TO NAB E-PAINTER RODRIGUEZ
The Talk ‘N Text retooling continues to be in high gear as the Tropang Texters appear set to acquire reliable veteran Larry Rodriguez from Rain or Shine.
In trade papers still waiting for the Commissioner’s approval, the 6-foot-4 forward will be dealt by the Elasto Painters in exchange for TNT’s second round pick in the 2015 Rookie Draft.
Rodriguez averaged 4.6 points and 3.8 rebounds last season for Rain or Shine, and was a steady presence in the four-position for coach Yeng Guiao.
If the deal gets the green light, Rodriguez will be a big help for the Texters, as he will beef up the TNT frontline. He will join Kelly Williams, Jay Washington, Danny Seigle, and Rob Reyes in coach Jong Uichico’s big man rotation, and will try to compensate for the hole in the middle left in the departure of Nonoy Baclao.
This trade comes on the heels of Talk ‘N Text’s acquisition of Washington and rookie Matt Rosser in a series of deals last week. (RL)
