Alaska ha tapped the services of 30-year-old Romeo Travis to be its reinforcement in the Governors’ Cup.

Travis suited up for the famed St. Vincent – St. Mary’s Irish with teammate and childhood friend LeBron James back in Akron, Ohio.

After going undrafted in the 2007 NBA Draft, Travis embarked on an international career which has seen him display his wares in Spain, Germany, Israel, Croatia, and Russia.

He was also named as the 2012 All-Israeli League Player of the Year while suiting up for Hapoel Gilboa Galil.

In his last tour of duty for Krasny Oktyabr in Russia, he averaged 14.44 points, 7.19 rebounds, and 1.81 assists.

This early, coach Alex Compton is happy with his acquisition of Travis.

“He is adjusting to his new teammates well. He is what I expected him to be – a good teammate and a smart player,” he said. (RL)
