It’s a matter of peaking at the right time.

An integral part of National University’s historic UAAP championship run last year followed by a stint with the gold medal-winning Gilas Pilipinas team in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games, Glenn Khobuntin is having one of the best rides an amateur could have before turning pro.

And as he stakes his name in the 2015 Gatorade PBA Rookie Draft on August 23, the versatile forward is taking the memorable lessons he got from the past year.

“Malaking bagay yung experience sa national team. Bagong learning under coach Tab (Baldwin), tapos mga kasama ko magagaling din,” Khobuntin said.

(My experience with the national team is big. There’s new learnings under coach Tab, and my teammates are really good.)

Playing under that circumstance opened the 6-foot-2 banger’s eyes on what he still needs to do, and he’s happy to have been a part of such a special squad.

“Dun ko nakita yung mga bagay na dapat ko pang gawin. Ang laking bagay nun (That’s where I saw the things I still need to do. It was really a big thing for me.),” said Khobuntin.

Khobuntin is taking those lessons as he embarks on a new chapter in his career, and he is ready to take the challenge with whichever team picks him.

“Kahit anong team naman ang kumuha sa akin, kahit sino ang pwede puntahan, ready lang din ako,” said Khobuntin.

(Whatever team picks me, wherever I go, I’ll just be ready.)
