Gilas Pilipinas vents ire on Hong Kong with 51-point win

Gilas Pilipinas avenged its opening day loss and dumped Hong Kong, 101-50, Thursday in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship in Changsa, China.
Dondon Hontiveros gave the Filipinos a 45-point, 78-33, lead in the third quarter that put the game beyond reach for Hong Kong.
Jayson Castro led the Filipinos with 21 points, five rebounds and two assists while Naturalized center Andray Blatche added 17 points and eight boards.
Gabe Norwood was the lone Gilas player without a point as the rest chipped in at least two markers each.
The Filipinos were “embarrassed” in their opening assignment after absorbing a 75-73 setback to Palestine, an unranked team in FIBA Asia.
Gilas Pilipinas for its second victory in the preliminary round of the Asian qualifiers on Friday against Kuwait at 4:45pm.
Only the champion in the biennial tournament will get a slot in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
