Ryan Araña may be donning the colors of San Miguel Beer when the new PBA season comes off wraps next month, but the rugged guard knows he wouldn’t be in the position he’s in if not for the only team he’s played for in his first eight years in the league.

In an Instagram post, Araña penned an emotional farewell to Rain or Shine, which drafted him as the 12th overall pick in 2007.

“I want to thank my #ROSFamily for the opportunity to be part of something great,” Araña wrote recently. “It was truly an honor and pleasure to play with you all!”

Araña was first traded to Barako Bull for a second round draft pick in the 2016 PBA Draft before the Energy then sent the 32-year-old to San Miguel for seldom-used swingman Ronald Pascual.

“To my coaches and bosses, thank you for all that you’ve done as a basketball player, but as a person and this is why I’d like to thank everyone that has helped and accompanied me to get to where I am now,” Araña, who was an integral part of the Painters’ championship run in the 2012 PBA Governors Cup champion, said.

“I am proud and fulfilled to have been part with @bayanngros, a team where I learned a lot and considered to be my family for eight years. I’m excited to begin a new chapter of my life and play with @smbeermen and be part of the #Fearthebeer Champs. Ready to accept for what the future holds, thank you again #ROSFamily and I wish you guys nothing but the best! Lastly thank you Lord God for all the blessings.”
