Two skidding teams hope to get back on track when they clash on Sunday in the 2016 Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup.

GlobalPort eyes to end its two-game slump as it goes up against Blackwater on Sunday. Game time is at 3 p.m. at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Falling to Alaska and Ginebra, the Batang Pier’s meteoric rise came to a screeching halt with the Aces and Gin Kings humbling them.

In those two instances, GlobalPort saw one of either Terrence Romeo or Stanley Pringle get stifled, putting the team’s cause on the shoulders of only one of its top guards.

Coach Pido Jarencio has been looking for ways to end the slump, giving Joseph Yeo, Keith Jensen, and even young guns Roi Sumang and Philip Paniamogan bigger roles in hopes of finding the spark the Batang Pier need.

At 3-3, GlobalPort is still on pace to make it to the quarterfinals.

However, a loss could endanger its position as it could fall to a tie with Barako Bull at seventh place.

Blackwater, meanwhile, is in the lookout for that second win after losing its last three outings.

Though inconsistent, coach Leo Isaac has found a gem in Art dela Cruz, who is slowly shaping his game to the customs of the PBA.

The Elite (1-5) will have to find the players who are willing to step up to as they aim to chalk another up in the winning column.
